Yes, the beyerdynamic dt 990 pro can be used without a sound card. These headphones have a standard 3.5mm audio jack that can be plugged directly into the headphone output of a computer, phone, or other audio devices. For the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 Ohm headphones, a sound card with a built-in headphone amplifier or a dedicated external headphone amplifier would be suitable. This is because the 250 Ohm impedance of the headphones requires more power to drive them effectively and achieve optimal sound quality. Look for sound cards with high-quality digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and sufficient power output to properly drive the headphones. Additionally, sound cards with features like low distortion, high signal-to-noise ratio, and support for high-resolution audio formats would further enhance the listening experience with the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 Ohm headphones. **
