The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) was founded in 1875 and has been one of the major political parties in Germany. It played a significant role in the country's political landscape, advocating for social democracy and workers' rights. In 1917, a faction of the SPD broke away to form the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany (USPD) due to disagreements over the party's support for World War I. The USPD later merged back with the SPD in 1922 to form the SPD-M (SPD-Merged), which eventually became the modern SPD. The SPD has since been a key player in German politics, participating in various coalition governments and shaping the country's social and economic policies. **

The choice between SPD and AfD depends on one's political beliefs and values. The SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany) is a center-left party that advocates for social justice, workers' rights, and progressive policies. On the other hand, the AfD (Alternative for Germany) is a far-right party that is known for its anti-immigrant and nationalist stance. Therefore, individuals who prioritize social equality and inclusivity may lean towards the SPD, while those who prioritize national identity and immigration control may align with the AfD. Ultimately, the decision between the two parties should be based on one's own values and priorities. **

It is difficult to predict with certainty which party SPD voters would choose if the SPD did not exist, as individual preferences can vary widely. However, some SPD voters may be drawn to the Green Party due to its focus on environmental and social justice issues, which align with traditional SPD values. Others may shift towards the Left Party, which also advocates for social justice and workers' rights. Some SPD voters may also be attracted to the more centrist positions of the CDU/CSU or FDP, depending on their specific policy priorities. Ultimately, the dispersion of SPD voters to other parties would likely depend on the specific political landscape and the platforms of the remaining parties. **

It is uncertain whether CDU and SPD will govern together in the upcoming election. While they have formed a coalition in the past, recent polls suggest that other parties may have a stronger chance of forming a coalition with one of the major parties. The final outcome will depend on the election results and the willingness of the parties to work together in a coalition government. **
